Rob is a brilliant coach: - he helps me to get clarity in my thinking and direction - he provides structure and avenues to explore (never shuts things down) - his sessions are exhausting and enjoyable The insights/decisions and toolkits that we come up with together are invaluable in my career and working life
Laura Graham
Laura has occupied a number of senior strategic roles across many well known and high profile organisations. I am proud to say that Laura has repeatedly asked me to be her executive coach over many years.
As an ILM Level 7 qualified Executive Coach of many years, I can offer a safe, positive, yet challenging coaching experience.
Coaching is a very personal form of personal development. After all, it’s just me and you!
Unlike training, or a team event, coaching focuses specifically on what it is you want to talk about and what you are trying to achieve.
From my experience, coaching will mean different things to different people and it’s that flexibility that makes it such a powerful developmental tool.
Some of the great people I have worked with in a coaching capacity were looking to achieve specific goals. Others have simply used the coaching as an opportunity to think out loud and have their own independent sounding board. For others it’s been about seeking advice or finding out new ways of working. Your reason for coaching will be yours and I will help and support you in achieving the outcomes you want.
My style of coaching is friendly and personable, but I am not afraid to ask you the questions that will really make you think. We’ll use a variety of methods, alongside the extremely important format of questioning and listening. I love to use coaching cards that stimulate the thinking, plus Profiling tools such as Spotlight by Mindflick and the EBW Emotional Intelligence at Work model. When it comes to where we coach we don’t have to be constrained to meeting in the office, or coaching virtually via our laptops. Some of the best coaching takes place in locations where you can feel at peace, away from the phone and email distractions.
If you want us to walk and talk, we can do that. Coaching on the go is a great way to reflect and means that we also get a bit of exercise at the same time! If you want to sit on a park bench with only the sound of the birds to distract, that’s also proved to have been a great way to get value from the experience. Of course if you’d rather remain in a business oriented environment, that will work too. Coaching can be carried out face to face, virtually or by phone. It's your choice.
Coaching is not for everyone. It’s challenging, soul bearing and unlike in a training room, there’s nowhere to hide!
Yet for all that, most importantly, it’s unique to you. It’s liberating, exciting, thought provoking, developmental and always time well spent.
