Robin Hendy MIBC - Who I am

I've had over 20 years experience of working in customer led, people focused business. I first became interested in training and development when working in the hotel and catering business, where it became clear that I was both comfortable with, and inspired by, working with groups and individuals, sharing knowledge and helping them improve their performance.

Following 8 years in hotel management and contract catering, and on the advice and encouragement of my own line manager at the time, I took a major career move that resulted in recognition as an innovative and effective HR professional.

I spent 14 years working for the Anglia Co-operative Society, one of the UK's largest retail Co-ops. Starting as a Trainer, I developed through the business up to my final position as the Society's Human Resource Executive. The position gave me overall responsibility for HR, including Business and People Development. As a key member of the Society's Executive Management team, I therefore gained much experience of developing business strategy at a senior level.

Whilst at Anglia, my team and I created many new and exciting bespoke business events. These events, coupled with the quality of the training and development that was delivered by the team, ensured a reputation that I am still justifiably proud of.

Simply, I love working with people. As a skilled coach, facilitator, trainer and consultant, I believe I am able to bring ideas and thoughts from clients out into the open in order to help them improve their business performance.

I am a member of the Institute of Business Consulting and an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

When not working I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and our two children. I am a keen football fan (although I won't prejudice your opinion of me by telling you whom I passionately support), and wind down by cycling, playing the guitar badly and listening to my ever growing music collection.
